Position SummaryEngage students in the teaching/learning process, work assigned schedule, and perform other related duties as required. The position involves teaching Manufacturing and Mechanical Engineering Technology courses in traditionally delivered and web-based formats and meeting College service expectations. Potential subject matter to be taught based on candidate’s attributes include Machining Processes, Advanced Machining, CNC, Advanced CNC Mills and Lathes, Hydraulics and Pneumatics, and Mechanical Power Transmission.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Plan and teaching courses that fulfill the current curriculum goals and program learning objectives.
- Remains current with subject matter and instructional methodology.
- Maintains classroom hours in accordance with departmental and College policies.
- Employs appropriate assessment techniques to measure student performance in achieving course goals and objectives.
- Communicates progress in the course to students in a timely manner.
- Determines and submits students' grades in accordance with established College policies and procedures.
- Supports the mission of the program, division, and College.
Responsible for teaching machine processes/skilled trades courses both in a lecture and lab environment. Course descriptions can be located in our catalog which is available ra.edu.

- A.A.S. Degree in Machining/Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred but not required.
- Journeyman card and/or other industry certifications preferred but not required.
- Minimum of five plus years’ experience in related industry experience in machining, manufacturing, mechanical systems, or skilled trades required.

- Proficient in word‑processing and presentation software, internet, and e‑mail.
- Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse group of students.
- Capability to teach in more than one discipline.
- Demonstrated ability to advise students.

- Effective problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work a combination of days/evening/weekend schedules.
