Program Engineer Opportunity

Premier, successful automotive supplier is seeking a Program Engineer to work within their engineering team, report to the Engineering Manager and be assigned to a specific group of customers with upcoming launch activity. The Program Engineer will be responsible for the following tasks:

• Act as the liaison to the customer on all program/product launch activities from cradle to grave
• Supply design and manufacturability input to the customer
• Meet with customers and tool shops on a regular basis related to the status of program activity and timelines
• Track the status of pre-production orders
• Responsible for customer-specific documentation, including the APQP process
• Complete quoting changes, contract review and engineering changes
• Lead program meetings
• Oversee continuous improvement and scrap reductions for the program once in production
• Ensure that produced products meet customer quality standards
• Other program, product or project engineering tasks as assigned

Candidates must be able to communicate directly and effectively at all levels, be self-motivated, take initiative on projects, work on multiple tasks and be hands on and flexible. Most important, candidates should be comfortable being the liaison between the customer and company. This position requires candidates to be on the manufacturing floor up to 40% of their day and complete regular day trips to suppliers, customers and tooling shops.

Requirements for the Program Engineer:

• Minimum of an Associate's degree; a Bachelor's degree is highly preferred
• At least 2-5 years in a similar automotive supplier or OEM program management or engineering position
• Experience overseeing the launch activities of a program, from cradle to grave
• Experience being the point of contact to the customer on program updates and status
• Experience completing the APQP process and other related engineering documentation
• Experience with tooling reviews
• Experience with GD&T
• Microsoft Office, specifically Excel

Skills preferred but not required:

• Class A surface experience
• Microsoft Project
• AutoCAD experience

Candidates are preferred to be local to the Fremont, Ohio area.
