Human Resources Generalist – Fremont, OH area
Profitable, successful, established manufacturer is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to join their HR team and partner with managers throughout the site to further develop and improve HR processes. Daily, you will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Promote a safe working culture by supporting facility safety requirements
- Act as a true HR Generalist, assisting with employee relations, investigations, FMLA, etc.
- Complete plant investigations, including documentation and counseling
- Supply HR assistance and support for the plant
- Support positive employee relation efforts and complete HR investigations as needed
- Maintain staffing partner relationships related to hourly and salary staffing
- Co‑lead the new hire orientation process, including willingness to perform orientation
- Eventual oversight of Workers Compensation and FMLA
- Coach and mentor supervisors to complete HR functions in a timely and professional manner, including assisting with PIPs, suspensions, exit interviews and terminations
- Complete data entry and HR functions in the HRIS system
- Own the internal bidding process
- Cross‑train as the backup for payroll and timekeeping
- Provide input to policy administration
- Promote and create employee engagement activities
- Support off‑shift production in a 24/7 operating environment by being flexible to visit off shifts on an as‑needed basis
- Review HR metrics and KPIs and offer recommendations for improvements
- Other duties as assigned
Candidates should enjoy working in a team environment, be able to take initiative of projects, challenge the norm, be a self‑starter and have a continuous improvement mentality. Individuals should enjoy spending up to 20‑40% of their time on the manufacturing floor, interacting with hourly and salary staff. This is a high‑profile position that will partner daily with supervisors in the plant and have direct daily contact with hourly staff.

Requirements for the HR Generalist- Large workforce experience

- SHRM certification
- BWC experience
- Experience in regulated environments
