Human Resources Generalist – Fremont, OH

OverviewProfitable, successful, established manufacturer seeks a Human Resources Generalist to partner with managers throughout the site to develop and improve HR processes.
Responsibilities- Promote a safe working culture by supporting facility safety requirements.
- Assist with employee relations, investigations, FMLA, and other HR generalist functions.
- Complete plant investigations, including documentation and counseling.
- Provide HR assistance and support for the plant.
- Support positive employee relation efforts and complete HR investigations as needed.
- Maintain staffing partner relationships related to hourly and salary staffing.
- Co‑lead the new hire orientation process; participate in orientation.
- Oversee Workers Compensation and FMLA.
- Coach and mentor supervisors on HR functions, including PIPs, suspensions, exit interviews, and terminations.
- Enter data and complete HR functions in the HRIS system.
- Own the internal bidding process.
- Serve as backup for payroll and timekeeping.
- Provide input to policy administration.
- Promote and create employee engagement activities.
- Support 24/7 production by visiting off‑shift shifts as needed.
- Review HR metrics and KPIs and recommend improvements.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree, ideally in Human Resources or related field.
- At least 3–5 years in a similar HR Generalist role in manufacturing and/or distribution.
- Strong experience with incident investigations and employee relations.
- Exposure to payroll and timekeeping systems.
- Familiarity with FMLA and leave of absence.
- Basic understanding of internal bidding processes.
- Technical savviness.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Experience with large workforce.
- Business Administration or related MBA.
- Experience in non‑union workforce.
- SHRM certification.
- BWC experience.
- Experience in regulated environments.
