Human Resources Generalist – Fremont, OH

Responsibilities- Promote a safe working culture by supporting facility safety requirements.
- Act as a full‑service HR Generalist, assisting with employee relations, investigations, FMLA, and related matters.
- Conduct plant investigations, including documentation and counseling.
- Provide HR assistance and support throughout the plant.
- Sustain positive employee relations and complete HR investigations as needed.
- Maintain staffing partner relationships for hourly and salaried positions.
- Co‑lead the new hire orientation process and perform orientation duties as required.
- Oversee Workers Compensation and FMLA processes over time.
- Coach and mentor supervisors on HR functions, including PIPs, suspensions, exit interviews, and terminations.
- Enter data and perform HR functions within the HRIS system.
- Own the internal bidding process.
- Cross‑train as a backup for payroll and timekeeping.
- Contribute input to policy administration.
- Develop and promote employee engagement activities.
- Support off‑shift production in a 24/7 operating environment by visiting off shifts as needed.
- Review HR metrics and KPIs and recommend improvements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Human Resources or related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in an HR Generalist role within manufacturing and/or distribution.
- Strong experience with incident investigations and employee relations.
- Exposure to payroll and timekeeping systems.
- Familiarity with FMLA and leave of absence processes.
- Basic understanding of internal bidding processes.
- Technical savviness and strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel.
- Candidates should be local to the Fremont, OH area; a relocation package is not available.
- Large workforce experience.
- MBA.
- Experience working with a non‑union workforce.
- SHRM certification.
- Experience in regulated environments.
