Saw Operator / Material Handler
 Pay: $20.00-$21.00 per hour

Schedule:

Monday-Friday | 7:00 AM-3:30 PM
 Breaks: 30-minute unpaid lunch and one 15-minute paid break

Job Summary
 We are seeking a reliable Saw Operator / Material Handler to join our team. This position is responsible for operating a large industrial saw to cut steel to specified lengths, handling incoming materials, maintaining inventory records, and supporting daily warehouse and steel processing operations. Candidates should be safety-minded, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with heavy materials.
 Responsibilities
 Operate a large industrial Hydmech saw safely and efficiently.
 Cut steel to required lengths according to cut lists and specifications.
 Verify measurements accurately to within 1/16 inch.
 Perform basic saw maintenance, including blade checks, cleaning, and fluid inspections.
 Load, unload, and move steel materials using a forklift or tow motor.
 Organize and stage materials while maintaining a clean work area.
 Track completed cuts and maintain inventory records.
 Monitor stock levels and communicate material shortages.
 Receive incoming deliveries, scan and document materials, and attach tags as required.
 Order steel based on project requirements and cut lists.
 Communicate delays, shortages, or material concerns to management.
 Follow all company safety procedures and properly use PPE.
 Report equipment issues and unsafe conditions promptly.
 Qualifications
 Previous experience operating saws, band saws, or heavy cutting equipment required.
 Hydmech saw experience is preferred.
 Forklift or tow motor experience required; certification is a plus.
 Ability to read a tape measure accurately to 1/16 inch.
 Strong organizational and communication skills.
 Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
 Ability to lift up to 50 pounds consistently and safely handle heavy steel materials.
 Strong commitment to workplace safety.
 Requirements
 Steel-toe shoes required.
 Long pants (jeans or similar) required.
 Ability to work in a manufacturing and steel-handling environment.
 Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.
