Construction Technician
The Construction Technician is a hands‑on role supporting new builds, remodels, fuel system installations, and facility upgrades. This position works closely with project managers, contractors, and internal teams to complete projects safely, efficiently, and to Company standards.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with construction, remodel, and maintenance projects at new and existing sites.
- Perform general construction tasks including carpentry, drywall repair, painting, flooring installation and repair, fixture installation, and finish work.
- Execute demolition activities for existing structures and fuel systems.
- Carry out site work activities such as utility installation, grading, and paving.
- Participate in all aspects of fuel system installations and concrete work.
- Support site preparation activities including demolition, material staging, and job‑site organization.
- Work alongside contractors to install outdoor components such as signage, bollards, fueling canopies, and site furnishings.
- Assist with punch‑list completion and ensure Company standards and construction specifications are maintained.
- Install and replace lighting, doors, ceiling systems, and interior finishes.
- Perform plumbing and electrical work within scope of training and licensing requirements.
- Coordinate equipment deliveries and verify materials match project requirements.
- Troubleshoot and repair construction‑related issues identified during or after project completion.
- Travel to assigned store locations to perform construction and repair work as scheduled.
- Maintain project timelines by completing work efficiently and communicating delays or issues promptly.
- Read and follow work orders, construction drawings, layouts, and installation instructions.
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized job sites to minimize disruption to store operations.
- Assist contractors and vendors to ensure adherence to Company standards and scope requirements.
- Participate in store walkthroughs before and after construction activities.
- Follow all Company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and construction site safety procedures.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Identify and report unsafe conditions, hazards, or code compliance concerns.
- Ensure tools and equipment are operated safely and maintained properly.
- Complete safety inspections and corrective actions as directed.
- Maintain inventory of tools, materials, and supplies assigned to projects.
- Load, transport, and organize construction materials between job sites.
- Document completed work, repairs, and installation activities as required.
- Track material usage and communicate replenishment needs to supervisor.
- Maintain Company vehicles, tools, and equipment in clean and operational condition.
- Maintain working knowledge of Company construction standards and procedures.
- Maintain professional relationships with vendors, contractors, and internal teams.
- Comply with all Company policies and procedures.
- Maintain flexibility to support multiple projects and changing priorities.
- Travel regularly between Company locations as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Valid driver’s license and motor vehicle record compliant with Company requirements for operating a Company‑owned vehicle.
- Reliable transportation to report to work and perform essential job functions.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
- BUSTR certification.
- CDL endorsement.
