Commercial Roofer
This role focuses on installing Duro-Last prefabricated materials on commercial roofing projects in and around the Toledo, OH area. You work primarily on first shift, typically 45–60 hours per week depending on weather, and take responsibility for running the crew, maintaining productivity, and staying on schedule. The position involves regular lifting of materials up to 50 pounds and operating standard roofing hand tools while working safely at heights on various commercial job sites.
Responsibilities- Install Duro-Last prefabricated roofing materials on commercial projects in the Toledo, OH area.
- Operate roofing hand tools and equipment safely and efficiently during installation activities.
- Lift and move roofing materials weighing up to 50 pounds as needed throughout the workday.
- Run the roofing crew on site, providing direction and support to keep work progressing smoothly.
- Maintain focus on project timelines and stay on task to ensure work is completed according to schedule.
- Work comfortably and safely at heights on commercial roofs with varying pitches.
- Travel to various project locations as required for the role, following per diem guidelines.
- Follow all safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment at all times.
- Collaborate with other crew members and site personnel to complete projects to quality standards.
- Adapt to weather-dependent schedules and extended work hours while maintaining reliability and professionalism.
- At least 5 years of experience installing commercial roofing systems.
- Hands-on experience installing Duro-Last prefabricated roofing materials.
- Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Comfort working at heights on commercial roofs in a variety of conditions.
- Proficiency in using roofing hand tools and related construction equipment.
- Capability to lead and run a roofing crew, keeping the team organized and on task.
- Strong attention to safety practices and proper use of personal protective equipment.
- Active driver's license to support travel and eligibility for per diem.
- Dependable work ethic suitable for 45–60 hour workweeks, subject to weather conditions.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working on 8/12 pitch roofs is helpful for safety awareness but not required.
- In construction or related trades is beneficial for understanding job site operations.
- Ability to travel for work to multiple commercial project locations.
- Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with crew members and site contacts.
- Reliability and punctuality in a schedule that may vary based on weather.
- Comfort with contract-to-hire arrangements and potential relocation if desired.
