Michigan Sugar Company has an immediate, full-time opportunity for a Warehouse Utility Person, located at the Fremont Warehouse, 1101 N. Front Street, Fremont, OH 43420.

The Warehouse Utility Person must be capable of learning proper operation of all inbound and outbound equipment; scrolls, elevators, screens, etc. used in conveying and screening of sugar from Factory Production, within the Silo, and to all Packing Lines and Bulk Bay. Must keep the work area clean and assist in the maintenance of sugar equipment as needed. Work as a team with other shifts to ensure no interruptions in product delivery occur.

Employees are responsible for the proper loading, unloading, and shipping of products and materials. Computer skills required to access inventories, reports, and orders. Employees must work with all production shifts as teams, to maintain product flow, satisfy customer requirements, and SQF objectives as well as perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor.

The Warehouse Utility is responsible for supporting the safe and efficient movement, storage, loading, unloading, and shipment of sugar and warehouse materials throughout the facility. This position operates and monitors sugar-handling equipment, supports production and packaging operations, maintains inventory accuracy, and ensures products are properly prepared and released for shipment.

The Warehouse Utility works closely with the Warehouse Supervisor, Foremen, Team Leaders, Production, Maintenance, Quality Control, Security, and other warehouse personnel to maintain continuous product flow and meet customer, food safety, and operational requirements.

• Learn and safely operate all inbound and outbound sugar-handling equipment, including scrolls, elevators, screens, silos, bulk sugar bins, conveyors, and related equipment.
• Monitor and inspect silos, bins, elevators, scrolls, conveyors, and other equipment to ensure proper operation and promptly report issues or concerns.
• Operate reclaim scrolls to maintain proper silo levels and crater conditions.
• Maintain and monitor vacuum and dust collection systems.
• Work directly with Foremen and Team Leaders to ensure an adequate supply of sugar to packaging lines and the Bulk Bay.
• Work collaboratively with all production shifts to maintain product flow and minimize interruptions to operations.
• Perform production protection checks and complete required documentation.
• Follow all GMP, AIB, SQF, and Michigan Sugar Company policies and procedures.
• Obtain and submit appropriate product samples to the Quality Control Laboratory in accordance with company procedures.
• Take silo measurements as required.
• Perform minor maintenance and housekeeping duties as needed.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe warehouse and equipment areas.
• Communicate effectively with Warehouse personnel, Maintenance, Supervisors, and other departments regarding equipment problems, product concerns, or operational issues.

• Properly load, unload, transfer, and ship products and materials in accordance with company procedures.
• Inspect box trucks and other transportation equipment prior to loading and complete required shipping documentation, including bills of lading, certificates of analysis, and export documentation.
