Location: Fresno, CA - Onsite / In - Person.

Department: General Accounting.

Salary Range: $85,848 – $94,656 annually.

Salary Range Effective March 1, 2026: $88,452 - $97,524 annually.

Westlands Water District is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accountant to join our General Accounting team. This role involves a wide range of professional accounting duties, including financial reporting, fiscal analysis, and allocation accounting. You’ll work closely with District management and staff, contributing to the financial integrity of one of California’s most vital water districts.

• Maintain and analyze fiscal records.
• Prepare timely financial reports.
• Apply laws, regulations, and policies to accounting practices.
• Use advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
• Collaborate in a dynamic team environment.
• Provide guidance and training to support staff.

• Education:
  
  Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
• Experience:
  
  Minimum 2 years of professional accounting experience (governmental accounting preferred).
• Skills:
  
  Strong Excel proficiency, excellent communication, and sound judgment.
• Other:
  Valid CA Class C Driver’s License may be required.
