Accounting Analyst

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Entry-Level Accounting Analyst to support daily accounting operations and assist the finance team with a variety of administrative and analytical tasks. This role is ideal for someone early in their accounting career who is eager to gain hands-on experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and financial reporting while working in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment tracking, and transaction recording.

- Support the preparation of billing statements and help ensure accuracy and adherence to organizational guidelines.

- Assist with reconciling payroll accounts and other financial records under the guidance of senior accounting staff.

- Help perform account reconciliations and assist in researching and resolving discrepancies.

- Provide administrative support for grant accounting activities, including tracking expenditures and maintaining documentation.

- Assist with processing purchase orders and preparing journal entries as directed by the accounting team.

- Compile and organize financial data to support reporting and internal analysis.

- Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure accurate financial documentation and processes.

- Maintain organized financial records and ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.

- Provide support during financial reporting cycles, audits, and other accounting projects as needed.

Requirements

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field, or equivalent accounting coursework.

- Internship or up to 1 year of accounting, bookkeeping, or finance-related experience preferred but not required.

- Basic understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general accounting principles.

- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and accounting or ERP systems is a plus.

- Strong attention to detail, organization, and willingness to learn.

- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a team-oriented environment.

- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
