Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team on a contract with the potential for a long-term position. Based in Fresno, California, this role involves a variety of accounting responsibilities, including managing financial records, preparing tax filings, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Responsibilities:

- Prepare and analyze corporate tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with tax regulations.

- Manage sales tax reporting and filing requirements in a timely manner.

- Record and reconcile journal entries to maintain accurate financial records.

- Oversee general ledger activities, ensuring all transactions are properly documented.

- Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing and payment tracking.

- Perform month-end and year-end close activities to support financial reporting deadlines.

- Prepare trial balances and assist in financial audits as needed.

- Collaborate with team members to improve financial processes and reporting efficiency.

- Ensure all financial records adhere to organizational policies and regulatory standards. Requirements

- At least 3 year of experience in accounting or a related field.

- Proficiency in preparing corporate tax returns and managing sales tax filings.

- Strong understanding of journal entries, general ledger, and financial reporting processes.

- Experience with accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) functions.

- Familiarity with month-end and year-end close procedures.

- Ability to prepare trial balances and support year-end reporting activities.

- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

- Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
