Federal experience is not required. Experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector or through Volunteer Service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS ALL GRADES (IOR)A degree in accounting; or a degree in a related field such as business administration, finance, or public administration that included or was supplemented by 24 semester hours in accounting. The 24 hours may include up to 6 hours of credit in business law. (The term "accounting" means "accounting and/or auditing" in this standard. Similarly, "accountant" should be interpreted, generally, as "accountant and/or auditor.")

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
A combination of education and experience that includes at least four (4) years of experience in accounting, or an equivalent combination of accounting experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional accounting knowledge. The applicant's background must also include one of the following:
and (c) except for literal nonconformance to the requirement of 24 semester hours in accounting, the applicant's education, training, and experience fully meet the specified requirements.
In addition to the basic requirements, you must have one (1) year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:
- Demonstrated skills applying accounting principles and techniques; basic theories, techniques and practices of change management, project management, and business process re-engineering techniques and practices to improve quality effectiveness; analytical and evaluative methods applicable to the administering mission related accounting and financial management programs and skills with data gathering techniques; and skills applying rules, regulations and other guidance promulgated by bodies governing federal accounting practices;
and familiarity with the systems, concepts and regulations, and operations of a Federal program.
Two (2) full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a master's degree in a related field such as business administration, finance, or public administration that included or was supplemented by 24 semester hours in accounting from an accredited college or university.
