Ultimate Staffing is seeking experienced accounting manager/controller level candidates. The Controller oversees the Finance Department, ensuring compliance with all federal and state requirements, and supervises staff to ensure timely completion of accounts payable and receivables functions.

Works closely with the Director of Finance and other members of the management team to:

• Develop and maintain financial and operational statistics, record‑keeping and reporting systems.
• Enter and maintain documentation for accounts payable, coding and cost accounting.
• Ensure all general ledger accounts are reconciled to subsidiary records on a monthly basis.
• Work with program staff to prepare documentation for budgets for government contracts and other billable activities.
• Manage financial statistics aspects of federal, state, and local government contracts and grants.
• Oversee, in conjunction with an independent auditor, preparation of the annual audit.
• Reconcile bank deposits and cash receipts, and prepare related journal entries.
• Assist with the annual audit.

• Prepare profit and loss statements, monthly closing and cost accounting reports.
• Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, and document business transactions.
• Support the team by establishing, maintaining, and coordinating accounting control procedures.
• Provide analysis and review of budgets and expenditures for local, state, federal, and private funding, contracts, and grants.
• Monitor and review accounting and related system reports for accuracy and completeness.
• Prepare and review budget, revenue, expense, payroll entries, invoices, and other accounting documents.
• Analyze revenue and expenditure trends and recommend appropriate budget levels to ensure expenditure control.
• Resolve accounting discrepancies.
• Recommend, develop, and maintain financial databases, computer software systems, and manual filing systems.
• Oversee and/or complete the input and handling of financial data and reports.
• Interact with internal and external auditors to complete audits.

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in business administration with a major in accounting or equivalent education and business experience.

• Minimum of five (5) years of experience directing accounting activities.
• Knowledge of theory and application of general cost accounting methods.
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to work with difficult customers (internal and external).

• Knowledge of or experience with accounting software.
• Knowledge of research techniques sufficient to collect and interpret data, descriptive statistics to analyze statistical data and prepare estimates.
• Team player and customer‑service oriented.
• Intermediate to advanced computer skills. Proficient with MS Office suite, specifically Excel and Word; proficient with email.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
