Position SummaryOur Client is seeking an experienced Staff Accountant who is looking to grow beyond traditional compliance work and become actively involved in client relationships, advisory services, and strategic financial support. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys working directly with clients to deliver impactful financial solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare client work papers and income tax returns
- Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy
- Produce and analyze financial reports to support client decision‑making
- Manage both cash and accrual basis accounting engagements
- Prepare and file various state and local tax returns
- Communicate directly with clients regarding accounting and tax‑related matters
- Collaborate with internal team members on tax planning and advisory strategies
- Participate in process improvements and special projects as needed
- Independently managing client engagements with minimal supervision
- Serving as a reliable and responsive point of contact for clients
- Delivering accurate financial reporting and timely tax filings
- Contributing ideas that improve internal processes and client outcomes
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 3–4 years of public accounting experience
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities effectively
- Proactive problem‑solving and sound decision‑making abilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace Experience using Quick Books Online
- CPA license or actively pursuing CPA certification
- Quick Books Online Pro Advisor certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience with grant and/or nonprofit accounting
- Familiarity with audit preparation processes
