Tax Accountant

Job Summary

Apple One is currently recruiting for an experienced Tax Accountant with strong tax review expertise to support a diverse client base across individual, partnership, corporate, and S corporation tax engagements. This direct hire opportunity is ideal for a CPA with public accounting experience who enjoys technical tax review, client service, staff mentorship, and quality-focused work.

The Tax Accountant will work closely with staff accountants, managers, and partners while contributing to a positive team culture, efficient tax processes, and continued professional growth.

• Review complex federal and state tax returns, including Forms 1040, 1065, 1120, and 1120-S, for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
• Evaluate supporting work papers, documentation, basis calculations, deductions, credits, and tax positions to ensure proper treatment.
• Research federal and California tax matters and provide guidance on complex tax issues, planning opportunities, and compliance requirements.
• Communicate review comments, recommendations, and tax planning opportunities to staff, managers, partners, and clients in a clear and professional manner.
• Assist with IRS, Franchise Tax Board, and other state tax notices, client questions, and technical follow-up.
• Mentor tax preparers and staff accountants while supporting quality control, workflow improvements, and consistent tax preparation standards.

• Salary range: $80,000 to $150,000 per year.
