Accounts Receivable Clerk

Description

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Clerk to support their accounting team. This position will be responsible for accurately processing customer payments, maintaining accounts receivable records, assisting with collections, and resolving account discrepancies. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, and comfortable communicating with customers and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

+ Process and post customer payments accurately and timely

+ Maintain customer accounts and ensure transactions are properly recorded

+ Prepare and send customer invoices and statements

+ Monitor outstanding receivables and follow up on past-due balances

+ Assist with collection efforts and communicate with customers regarding account balances

+ Research and resolve billing and payment discrepancies

+ Reconcile customer accounts and identify unapplied or misapplied payments

+ Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly accounts receivable reports

+ Assist with month-end closing activities and account reconciliations

+ Maintain accurate and organized electronic and physical records

+ Respond to customer and internal inquiries regarding billing and account activity

+ Support the accounting team with additional duties and special projects as needed

Requirements

+ 1+ year of accounts receivable, billing, collections, or related accounting experience preferred

+ Strong attention to detail and accuracy

+ Comfortable working with numbers and reconciling account information

+ Basic understanding of accounting principles

+ Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software

+ Strong communication and customer service skills

+ Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines

+ High school diploma or equivalent required; accounting coursework or degree is a plus
