Compensation and Benefits
Anticipated hiring salary range: $5,274 - $5,488 per month.
Full CSU Classification salary range: $5,274 - $7,684 per month.
This is a full-time, probationary, exempt position.
The CSU system provides a comprehensive benefit package that includes medical, dental, and vision plans, membership in the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS), sick and vacation time, and 15 paid holidays a year. Eligible employees may also participate in the fee waiver education program.
Job SummaryWorking independently under the supervision of the Director of the Office of Innovation and Digital Excellence for Academic Success (IDEAS) or designee, the position supports faculty, academic support units, staff, students, and other campus clients by providing consultation and support to enhance the use and access of technology. This position serves as the Academic Technology Resource Center (ATRC) specialist, supervising student assistants in ATRC, DISCOVERe, and IDEAS.
Responsibilities include monitoring ongoing divisional communication, meetings, and events; providing advisory services; serving as custodian of all resource information/files for unit activities; and maintaining an open and effective work environment. The incumbent may also perform requirement analysis, documentation, and quality assurance testing, and provide budget analysis administrative oversight for the Office of IDEAS. The role also leads student assistants, including their hiring process, leveraging a significant degree of autonomy to ensure proposal submission deadlines are met, requiring judgment, discretion, and accountability.
KeyQualifications
- Knowledge of:
- Processes that ensure data integrity, compliance, and adequate internal controls.
- Office management and administrative field with foundational knowledge of public administration principles.
- Operational and fiscal analysis techniques.
- Advanced proficiency in computer office systems and broad technology usage (Microsoft Office Suite, Google apps, Adobe PDF).
- Financial, budgetary, and accounting principles.
- Supporting state and federal funding proposal development.
- Skill/ability to:
- Participate in planning and development activities, recommending methods to meet programmatic or administrative goals.
- Research, develop, and evaluate policies and programs, including collecting, evaluating, and interpreting data to develop sound conclusions and make recommendations.
- Interpret and apply a wide variety of policies and procedures.
- Take initiative and independently plan, organize, coordinate, and perform work in various situations with diverse demands.
- Train others in new skills and procedures, present ideas and concepts in written or presentation format, and use consultative and facilitation skills to gain consensus.
- Communicate effectively with people of diverse backgrounds and in a team-oriented environment.
- Organize and plan work and projects, handling multiple priorities.
- Use initiative and resourcefulness to plan assignments and implement long‑range program improvements.
- Troubleshoot a wide variety of problems and provide senior-level administrative and full-range front office support, coordinating clerical and administrative office functions to ensure customer service is prompt, friendly, and efficient.
- Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
- Three years of professional administrative work experience involving study, analysis, and/or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices, or programs.
- Preferred knowledge, skills, or abilities:
- Master’s Degree, preferably in higher education, business, or related field.
- Experience working in a higher education setting.
- Proficiency with information technology and setting up, troubleshooting Canvas, and smart classroom infrastructure.
- Proficiency with electronic submission systems for proposals, particularly federal systems.
- Two years of experience supporting development of state or federal funding proposals.
- Working knowledge of People Soft.
