Clovis Community College in Fresno, California is hiring a Library Operations Coordinator. This role oversees library operations and plays a significant role in keeping the library running smoothly. We are a highly collaborative team passionate about creating positive library experiences for students through resources, instructional services, and in‑library services – “creating opportunities, one student at a time.”

General PurposeUnder general supervision, the coordinator participates in and monitors the daily operations at an assigned campus library; interprets and explains library policies; provides access to and instruction in library resources; assists librarians in overseeing processing, organization, and circulation of materials; interacts with other departments; selects, trains, and schedules student aides and volunteers; and performs related duties as assigned.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Assist librarians in overseeing library activities, including scheduling and assigning tasks to staff, student workers, and volunteers; verify work for accuracy and compliance with procedures; and assist staff in problem resolution.
- Provide lead guidance and direction to student aides and volunteers; assign, schedule, and monitor work for completeness, accuracy, and adherence to library standards; and provide instruction on procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Offer detailed assistance to patrons at the circulation desk; circulate materials; assist with library equipment; accept payments for fees, post payments, lift holds, process lost material resolutions, maintain patron records, and answer phone and email inquiries.
- Create and monitor reports for overdue notices; contact students and verify accounts; place holds for unreturned or damaged items; create final notice billings; and submit documentation to the Business Office.
- Ensure money drawers are prepared; balance cash and fine drawers; prepare deposit forms; empty copiers and printers that require user payments; and make periodic deposits.
- Coordinate inter‑library/inter‑facility loans, reserve activities, receipt of new reserve items, accession of periodicals, and procurement of new materials.
- Maintain circulation, attendance, intra‑library loan, periodical, database usage, student hour, fine, and inventory records; retrieve data for reports and accreditation; and conduct research and prepare ad‑hoc reports.
- Respond to inquiries and complaints, explain policies, provide forms, and assist faculty and students in locating resources.
- Coordinate mending activities for library materials; train staff on basic mending procedures.
- Contribute to development and maintenance of staff and student policies; collaborate with Dean, librarians, and other staff to create training materials.
- Demonstrate sensitivity to historically minoritized groups and participate in professional development to increase cultural competency and equity‑minded practices.
- Produce newsletters, brochures, signs, handouts, graphs, displays, and other documents as needed to promote or explain library resources or services.
- Participate in the opening and closing of the library following established procedures, ensuring safety and security of patrons.
- Respond to and troubleshoot user problems with computers, Wi‑Fi, copiers, printers, and other equipment; contact technical support and report maintenance issues.
