This position may be eligible for a hybrid work schedule. The amount of telework is at the discretion of the department and is subject to change as business needs arise.
The reporting location for this position is the Disability Insurance Branch (DIB) field office(s) located in Fresno, CA.
Under the direction of the Supervisor I the Branch Trainer develops and delivers program and project training, soft skills training, and professional development programs for staff and managers. The team owns the creation and revision of training modules and collaborates with subject matter experts on training initiatives. This position offers a unique opportunity to influence many facets of the training and development of the DIB employees, positively impact customer outcomes, and help guide program development at one of the largest and most influential state agencies.
Prior experience supporting benefit programs training is required. The individual selected for this role will be assisting in the development of program and skills-related training.
The DIB of the Employment Development Department (EDD) ensures eligible Californians receive paid wage replacement benefits when they are unable to work due to a non-work-related illness, injury, or pregnancy. The Command Center Division (CCD) of DIB, where this position is located, oversees workload performance, collects real-time data analytics and focuses on providing best-in-class training and quality management oversight for the DIB.
The Training Group of CCD guides the learning and development efforts for new-hire training, program training, and professional development programs.
This position is eligible for hybrid telework, which may be subject to change. The candidate will be required to report to the nearest Fresno, CA field office for their in-office days.

Effective July 1, 2025, specific Bargaining Units and associated Excluded State employees are subject to a salary reduction between 2% - 4.62% in exchange for hours in the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) per month.
