Summary

As a Summer 2026 Intern, you will have opportunities to learn and contribute to what’s on trend in food & beverage while building a robust network, demonstrating leadership skills, and having fun.

Role Overview

As a Supply & Demand Intern, you will collaborate closely with the Nuts leadership team and gain exposure to strategic business operations and project work to optimize buying and selling strategies in ofi’s private label and global sourcing businesses in the Nuts BU. The intern will be primarily focused on almonds, pistachios, and walnuts. The Supply & Demand intern will work cross‑functionally with sales, procurement, and logistics within the Nuts BU and will be exposed to various experts in their respective Nut’s businesses.

This project provides the intern with an exciting opportunity to learn the vast landscape of not only California nuts but also how they are influenced by worldwide growing regions, along with the demand in those regions. This assessment will also help the Supply &Demand intern develop a strong commercial and technical understanding of the price market for these nuts. The Nut’s Supply &Demand intern will then use this new knowledge to be able to convey their views to both internal and external partners of ofi.

Candidate

The ideal candidate should be in good standing with an accredited university and have a desire to pursue a career within the food/agriculture industry. A desire to learn in a fast‑paced environment while working with multiple teams across various locations and effective communication will be required to succeed in this internship.

Position Responsibilities
  • Strong interpersonal skills required.
  • Assess and analyze current market trends across almonds, pistachios, and walnuts.
  • Understand nut basics as it relates to grading and quality for both purchasing and selling needs.
  • Identify strengths and opportunities on how to better utilize shared nuts resources.
  • Lead and participate in ad hoc projects for the nuts private label and global sourcing teams.
  • Achieve ability to form views on optimal times for both buying and selling various nuts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
  • High school diploma is required.
  • Must be currently enrolled at an accredited college or university, working toward a bachelor’s degree, Masters, or MBA in Operations, Supply Chain, Business or a related discipline. Master/MBA preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively within a fast‑paced environment is required.
  • Must possess a high degree of initiative and resourcefulness.
  • Must be self‑starter, able to manipulate data to come up with own view.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality and data protection are required.
  • Microsoft Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) is required.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are required.
