The District is seeking a versatile Construction Inspector to oversee the construction of complex projects, ranging from underground storm drain pipelines to basin pump stations. Join us and play a vital role in our local infrastructure!
Who We AreWe are a special‑purpose district dedicated to flood control and urban stormwater management, serving the cities of Fresno and Clovis, along with parts of Fresno County. With a team of 76 full‑time staff covering a 400‑mile service area, we embrace diverse roles and responsibilities. WhoYou Are
- A High School diploma or equivalent (Levels 2 and 3 must have additional technical training in engineering, construction drafting, surveying, or water sciences).
- At least one to five years of general experience related to the construction of public works projects or a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field with specialization in construction.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- A knack for problem‑solving and a keen eye for detail.
- Perform detailed construction inspection and coordinate field/laboratory testing on construction materials.
- Oversee and inspect drainage‑related construction activities to ensure compliance with District standards.
- Conduct field survey parties, review field data, and translate findings into accurate construction drawings.
- Coordinate work plans and construction schedules while assisting in securing necessary permits to keep projects moving forward.
- Interpret construction plans and drawings, and verify correct materials are utilized in construction.
- Prepare reports, official correspondence, and maintain detailed project records.
