Expected salary range for this position is $125,000 - $150,000 depending on experience.

Tutor Perini Corporation is seeking a Field Safety Representative to join our office in Fresno, CA.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain a safe job site, monitor safety and take appropriate action to correct any safety issues or deficiencies.
  • Assist supervisor(s) with job site start-up.
  • Coordinate with project overhead team and owners as needed.
  • Assess safety needs for training purposes.
  • Schedule and implement established training programs.
  • Ensure training requirements are adhered to and maintain all training documentation.
  • Monitor subcontractor safety training.
  • Review project monthly safety statistics for accuracy and forward them to the Safety Director.
  • Conduct new hire orientations.
  • Assist the General Superintendent with the development and monitoring of the job-specific safety plan.
  • Create and distribute minutes of safety committee meetings.
  • Review accident procedures with the Superintendent.
  • Maintain MSDS and Haz-Com program for subcontractors.
  • Complete incident reports and maintain incident documentation and files.
  • Gather toolbox reports from foremen and subcontractors.
  • Receive and monitor subcontractor safety reports and respond to discrepancies in monthly man‑hour reports.
  • Monitor and maintain OSHA Log 300.
  • Monitor all accidents and maintain appropriate file records.
  • Set up drug testing appointments for new craft employees.
  • Conduct safety audits.
  • Assist in development of project safety incentive programs with Project Manager and Superintendents.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of construction equipment, techniques, drawings, specifications, building materials and applicable standards.
  • Maintain cameras and film supply.
  • Develop job‑specific safety orientation and hold weekly for subcontractor personnel.
  • Coordinate with Division Safety Director.
  • Attend all pre‑installation conferences.
  • Schedule and chair OSHA 10‑hour safety courses.
  • Plan and accomplish goals based on extensive experience and judgment.
  • Complete tasks accurately in a compressed time frame creatively and resourcefully.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations to include health, safety, and welfare as appropriate.
Certification
  • CHST preferred.
Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Safety Management or a related field desired.
  • Combination of education and work experience considered in lieu of degree.
Experience
  • Minimum three years of construction experience in the field or related area preferred.
Special Skills
  • Intermediate knowledge of Windows operating systems – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • Basic knowledge of Prolog software.
  • Knowledge of CAD 2000 or CAD 3‑D desired.
