30 Action News, the ABC Owned Television station in Central California, is seeking a General Assignment Reporter to join our top-rated news team. We want someone who thrives on breaking news and excels at telling accurate, balanced, and engaging stories.
- Research, set up interviews, and write content daily.
- Collaborate with photojournalists, producers, assignment editors, and managers to execute story assignments.
- Effectively deliver breaking news live on‑air, without a script.
- Shoot and edit stories as needed.
- Fill‑in anchor as needed.
- 3+ years of reporting experience preferred. Candidates with demonstrated storytelling and journalism skills will also be considered.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Knowledge of the Central Valley
- Bilingual skills
- Success creating engaging vertical videos for social media
- College Degree
The hiring range for this SAG‑AFTRA role in Fresno, California is $60,000 to $70,000 per year. The base pay actually offered may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. The role also has potential for additional compensation for overtime and early‑morning/overnight shifts. Select benefits may be provided as part of the compensation package, such as medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
