Position Summary
Job No: 546503. Temporary Lecturer in Physics – teaches undergraduate courses such as Physics 2A, Physics 2B, Physics 4A, Physics 4B, PSCI 21, and other classes as required.
Instructor Responsibilities- Prepare, deliver, proctor, and grade lectures, office hours, homework, quizzes, class projects, midterm and final exams.
- Maintain scheduled class meetings in the assigned mode (asynchronous, synchronous, in‑person, or hybrid).
- Adhere to university and system‑wide policies per Academic Policy Manual 306 paragraph 2.
Appointment is contingent upon budget and enrollment; order of work is governed by the CSU‑CFA collective bargaining agreement. New lecturer appointees are assigned after tenure‑line faculty.
CompensationSalary commensurate with qualifications and experience within the CSU salary schedule (Class Code 2358). For a Master’s degree the range is $5,507–$6,677 per month for full‑time (15 WTUs); actual salary is adjusted based on assigned WTUs.
Anticipated SemesterPool is continuously open; positions are filled as needed.
Fall 2025:
August 18 2025 – December 22 2025;
Spring 2026:
January 15 2026 – May 22 2026.
- Master’s degree in Physics or closely related field.
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence, diversity, accessibility, and equal opportunity.
