Position Overview:
The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry seeks graduate students as Teaching Associate applicants. Teaching Associates typically are responsible for providing laboratory instruction for general education courses. Eligibility is determined by successful TA eligibility, department eligibility and adequate funding.
The department is seeking TA applicants for sections of CHEM 1A lab, CHEM 3A lab, and/or NSCI 1A lab.
TAs will teach 1-4 sections the following semester and could have opportunities to teach other beginning courses in the Chemistry and Biochemistry Department.
The department reserves the right to choose the most qualified candidate for each position and to assign TAs to the courses that are appropriate for the department program and curriculum in any given semester. Due to staff and curriculum changes, courses offered may vary, and no guarantee of employment from semester to semester can be made.

Fall 2025:
August 18, 2025 – December 22, 2025
Spring 2026:
January 15, 2026 – May 22, 2026
Hours/Units per week: Students can work up to 20-hours per week; 1-unit is equivalent to 2.66 hours per week (40hrs x 1-unit/15-unit). The typical range for labs is between 1.3-wtus - 5.2-wtus (dependent on courses and number of section(s) assigned). No more than 7.5-units.
