Position Overview:

The Department of Biology is seeking Instructional Student Assistant (ISA) applicants. The successful applicant will offer instructional assistance to faculty in the Biology Department at California State University, Fresno. Under supervision, an Instructional Assistant will perform teaching, grading or tutoring duties for the majority of work hours in a given appointment in the Biology Department over the course of an academic term.

The department reserves the right to choose the most qualified candidate for each position and to assign Instructional Student Assistant to the courses that are appropriate for the department program and curriculum in any given semester. Due to staff and curriculum changes, courses offered may vary, and no guarantee of employment from semester to semester can be made. Anticipated Appointment Dates:

Hours:

0-20 hours per week.

Job Duties may include the following, but will be dependent upon the specific course to which the instructional student assistant will be assigned, as well as upon the specific needs of the faculty member in charge of the course:
* Maintain/Submit students records/grades,
* Evaluate student assignments
* Canvas management
* Preparation of instructional materials
* Weekly meeting with the course instructor

Qualifications:

* Minimum GPA 3.0
* Demonstrated commitment to working effectively with faculty, staff and students from diverse ethnic, cultural and socioeconomic background,
