Instructional Student Assistant (ISA) for the Division of Graduate Studies
Position Overview:
The Division of Graduate Studies is seeking Instructional Student Assistant (ISA) applicants.
Instructional Student Assistants (Writing or Statistics Consultants) meet with graduate students in either one-on-one or in small group settings to collaborate on graduate student writing, research, and/or statistics. These discussions often address the following: projects, theses, dissertations, or other graduate-level research and/or writing assignments for classes at Fresno State.
The department reserves the right to choose the most qualified candidate for each position and to assign Instructional Student Assistant to the courses that are appropriate for the department program and curriculum in any given semester. Due to staff and curriculum changes, courses offered may vary, and no guarantee of employment from semester to semester can be made.
Department Overview:
The university offers 47 graduate degree programs which include a Doctorate in Educational Leadership, a Doctorate in Physical Therapy, a Doctor of Nursing Practice, an Educational Specialist degree, and multiple master's degree programs. The university also offers 13 certificates of advanced study.
Anticipated Appointment Dates:

Hours:
0-20 hours per week.
Job Duties may include the following:
* Read and evaluate student papers and/or research findings,
* Offer constructive/facilitative critique on student projects,
* Perform individual and/or group tutoring.
Qualifications:
* Minimum GPA 3.0
* Junior/Senior or Graduate standing;
* Evidence of subject matter competence or experience in a closely-related discipline;
* Ability and willingness to work with computers including common word-processing software, and computer and Internet-based language teaching technology;
* Should have the ability to relate well with others within the academic environment and have the ability or potential to learn how to instruct and evaluate students;
* Communication skills appropriate to the instructional setting;
* Demonstrated commitment to working effectively with faculty, staff and students from diverse ethnic, cultural and socioeconomic background,
