What it’s like to be a Teaching Fellow Site LeadYour day-to-day involves the active supervision and coordination of after school activities. You serve as the point of contact for school personnel, ensuring that the program operates in full compliance with state and federal laws. From preparing essential data reports to fostering a safe and healthy atmosphere for students, you are the operational backbone that allows our mission to succeed on the ground.
Responsibilities- Coordinate and Supervise Designated After school Program Site (Approximately 50% of day)
- Coordinate after school programs in cooperation with the school site administrators and other personnel.
- Assure programs are in compliance with licensing requirements, state and federal laws, and rules and regulations.
- Collect and prepare program data and submit to State and Federal grant funding.
- Provide a safe and healthy learning environment for youth by maintaining safe practices and procedures conducive to maximizing learning.
- Ensure enrichment and instructional materials are set-up and set-out each time; ensure the classroom is left clean.
- Coordinate and implement various student and family services while assisting program administrators in identifying available services for implementation.
- Assure and evaluate program effectiveness and make and/or implement modifications as needed.
- Assist with placement and development of students and staff.
- Train program participants on a variety of program activities, including attendance, participation and program development.
- Effectively communicate with students, parents and outside agencies/organizations to resolve issues and collaborate with other organizations as assigned.
- Monitor student behavior and conduct and enforce behavioral standards and rules by providing approved disciplinary action.
- Communicate with students’ parents and site administrator or personnel regarding conduct and behavioral issues.
- Marketing Program and Data Entry (Approximately 10% of day)
- Develop a unique and marketable name for the site; design and develop effective marketing materials such as flyers, brochures and posters to promote and increase community awareness of the program.
- Create and implement effective incentive programs; disseminate enrollment applications to students; work to increase program enrollments using creative marketing and advertising methods while staying within budget.
- Record and input attendance of students via assigned software or database program; forward data to Teaching Fellows, Local Educational Agencies, and the school district.
- Prepare and maintain a variety of records and reports related to assigned activities and what is required by State and Federal agencies.
- Review and approve time sheets; input new student profiles in E.R.C.'s attendance management website; monitor and record student activities.
- Monitor and Observe Classroom (Approximately 20% of day)
- Visit classrooms daily to ensure staff are actively engaged with students and their learning.
