Required Qualifications:
Education (from an accredited institution or foreign equivalent.): A Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree.
Experience:
* Demonstrated commitment to working effectively with faculty, staff, and students from diverse ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
* Active Physical Therapist, licensed in the State of California.
* All Applicants:
Candidates will provide a letter of interest in the clinical instructor position in the campus clinics (Adult Neurology or Outpatient practice: musculoskeletal) or as a lecturer (provide the clinical area of expertise). Include experiences in multidisciplinary settings and or engaging with other disciplines (occupational or speech therapy, nursing, physicians, discharge planning, orthotics).
* Lecturer application: A successful applicant for a lecturer must have a minimum of 5 years of full-time clinical experience in the area of clinical expertise. In the Curriculum Vitae, highlight the evidence of expertise including years of practice, settings, certifications or advanced training, teaching experience, research work and/or awards, honors etc. Indicate continuing education courses (title of course, number of units, date) over the past five years in the clinical area of expertise.
* Campus Clinics: A successful applicant as a clinical instructor must have a minimum of 5 years of full-time practice experience, obtained the APTA Clinical Instructor Certificate and been a clinical instructor with 4 students in a full-time clinical practice setting such as skilled nursing, neuro-rehab, outpatient orthopedic clinics or hospital.
Preferred Qualifications:
* A commitment to teaching excellence at the undergraduate level, which may be exhibited through prior teaching experiences and teaching evaluations or other evidence.
* Successful teaching experience at the undergraduate level.
* Board-Certified Clinical Specialist through the APTA.
Application Procedures:
A review of applications continues on a rolling basis as teaching positions open. Review may begin as early June 15th, 2026 for a Fall 2026 assignment.
