TEACH is a Multiple Subject Teacher Preparation Program offering asynchronous online academic work and site‑based clinical experiences. The mission is to empower teacher candidates to support diverse learners in California’s future.
- Interview candidates for program admission and advise them throughout their credential program.
- Develop and support a cohort as a learning community, guiding online learning through the CalState
TEACH curriculum. - Provide feedback on candidates’ progress toward the Teaching Performance Expectations (TPEs) and perform formative and summative assessment of classroom performance.
- Supervise site‑based classroom instruction, serve as liaison to school‑site personnel, and support the selection of site‑based mentor teachers.
- Prepare well‑designed formative assessments that resemble the pedagogical assessment tasks in the Teaching Performance Assessment (TPA).
- Attend regional and statewide faculty meetings, serve on committees, and contribute to curriculum development and revision.
- Participate in recruitment/outreach activities, including job fairs and professional conferences.
- Master’s degree in education or related field.
- Teacher leadership or administrative experience in public schools with appropriate certification.
- Residence in the assigned sub‑region and ability to travel within the sub‑region to candidates’ clinical placements.
- Understanding of adult learning theory and a demonstrated ability to teach, advise, supervise, and evaluate candidates from diverse backgrounds.
- Commitment to independent, student‑centered learning and lifelong professional development.
- Organized, systematic, and able to work successfully both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Access to reliable internet service with a minimum download rate of 1.5 Mbps for faculty tasks.
- Experience supervising elementary school teachers and teaching in classrooms with English learners.
- Expertise in educational technology and online delivery systems.
Salary is commensurate with experience and falls within the CSU Salary Schedule Class Code 2458 for Academic Year Lecturers. Temporary faculty with a Master’s degree earn $5,507–$6,677 per month when teaching full time (15 WTUs). Actual monthly salary is adjusted based on the number of WTUs assigned per academic term.
