The Department of Construction Management is a team of interdisciplinary faculty and staff committed to educating future professionals in the construction industry. The department offers programs ranging from a major in Construction Management to a Master of Science in Construction Management, as well as a professional development program for practicing professionals.
ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will teach a broad range of courses in construction management at both graduate and undergraduate levels. Primary teaching interests include, but are not limited to, building materials and methods, construction graphics, cost estimating, planning and scheduling, construction safety, design‑build project delivery, project controls, and preconstruction services. Candidates with expertise in generative design, lean construction, BIM, robotics, automation, or data sciences in construction are strongly encouraged to apply.
Other responsibilities may include student advising and supervision, participation in a diverse academic community, and compliance with all university and system‑wide policies as outlined in the Academic Policy Manual.
Conditional AppointmentAppointing is contingent upon budget and enrollment considerations and is subject to the order of assignment provisions in the collective bargaining agreement between CSU and the California Faculty Association. Eligibility to work in the United States is required.
CompensationSalary is commensurate with qualifications and experience within the published range. Temporary faculty holding a master’s degree earn between $5,507 and $6,677 per month for full‑time teaching (15 WTUs), with adjustments based on the number of WTUs assigned.
Anticipated SemesterThe faculty pool is open continuously and positions are filled as needed. Appointments may be made just prior to the start of the academic term; candidates should be available to begin teaching on short notice. The pool remains available for two academic terms; beyond that, reapplication is required.
Fall 2026:
August 19, 2026 – December 22, 2026
Spring 2027:
January 15, 2027 – May 26, 2027
- Earned Master’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field, or an MBA with a bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or Engineering.
- Demonstrated commitment to working with faculty, staff, and students from diverse backgrounds.
- Evidence of professional experience in design and construction development and teaching related topics.
- Successful teaching experience at the graduate level.
- Teaching experience in construction management or related subjects at the undergraduate level.
- Expertise in design‑build and collaborative project delivery methods.

- July 1, 2026 – deadline for full consideration for Fall 2026.
- October 31, 2026 – deadline for full consideration for Spring 2027.
- March 1, 2027 – projected closing date for the 2026‑2027 academic year.
