The University of San Diego, Professional and Continuing Education, is looking for an adjunct faculty member to teach and/or develop an online class for our Medical Billing and Coding course. The course is offered in an online self‑paced format and students have six months to complete it.

• Teach the course
• Assess student progress in meeting the learning objectives through formal and informal assessment
• Hold office hours
• Meet required deadlines for submitting grades, attendance, and other information
• Adhere to safety procedures and departmental standards

• Work with the Learning Design Team to create and develop the course in our learning management system while meeting agreed upon deliverable dates

• Minimum of an associate degree in medical billing and coding
• Certification, including passing the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) Certification Exam, specific to medical coding and medical billing
• Experience in the medical field, particularly in positions with responsibilities related to billing
• Knowledge of medical records management, medical terminology, administrative duties, electronic medical record software programs, and healthcare theory and reasoning

• Experience with the Canvas learning management system

BB Positions: $32‑40/hour

The salary range provided in this posting reflects what we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Actual compensation offered or earned is dependent on experience, education and other factors including departmental budget.
