- Provide instruction in a full range of Economics courses.
- Participate in student recruitment and articulation of programs.
- Maintain subject matter currency.
- Develop and revise curriculum.
- Use computer and multimedia technology.
- Assess student learning and program level outcomes.
- Collegially participate in department, college, and discipline-specific professional activities.
- Teach using multiple methodologies and across various campus sites, including day, evening, or weekend classes; large classes; distance learning; and classes for incarcerated students.
- Master’s degree in Economics.
- OR Bachelor’s degree in Economics plus a Master’s degree in Business, Business Administration, Business Education, Finance, or Political Science.
- OR Possession of a valid credential authorizing full‑time teaching of Economics at the California Community College level.
- OR Equivalent educational, experience, or other accomplishments judged as equal to the stated minimum qualifications.
- Demonstrate sensitivity to the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
- Degrees and credits must be from accredited Title V institutions. International degrees must be evaluated by a National Association of Credential Evaluation Services member or Academic Credentials Evaluation Institute.
- Work effectively with colleagues in an environment that promotes innovation, teaching, learning, and service to a diverse student population.
- Work with students possessing a wide range of skills, motivations, academic, and vocational goals.
- Develop curriculum, including curriculum delivered via different modalities.
- Participate in recruitment and articulation activities with local schools, colleges, and universities.
- Communicate effectively, both orally and in written form.
- Maintain subject matter currency.
- Assess student learning outcomes.
- Know computers and explore new technologies that benefit the program.
- Commit to the California community college mission.
