26-27 AY Instructional Student Assistant (ISA) - CSM Advising & Resource Center
The CSM Advising and Resource Center is seeking Instructional Student Assistant (ISA) applicants. ISAs typically are responsible for providing mentoring, grading, and facilitating in the first year CSM 10 and 15 classes.
Job duties may include the following, but will be dependent upon the specific course to which the instructional student assistant will be assigned, as well as upon the specific needs of the faculty member in charge of the course:
- Maintain/Submit students records/grades
- Evaluate student assignments
- Canvas management
- Attend all class periods you are assigned to
- Attend weekly meetings and training sessions
- Serve as a role model student during the class
- Help with student check-ins and mentoring
- Support student research
- Participate in and organize social, outreach, and other college events
Qualifications:
- Minimum GPA 3.0
- Demonstrated commitment to working effectively with faculty, staff and students from diverse ethnic, cultural and socioeconomic background
- Experience with Google suites (docs, sheets, slides, Gmail, etc)
Preferred qualifications:
- Previous experience as a student in the BOND program
- Classroom management skills / prior leadership experience
- Involvement with CSM faculty research
- Exceptional willingness in support of course-based undergraduate research
