Compensation And Benefits
The anticipated salary hiring range is $7,916 - $10,000 per month, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
This is a CSU Management Personnel Plan (MPP) position. The CSU system provides a comprehensive benefit package that includes medical, dental, and vision plans, membership in the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS), sick and vacation time, and 15 paid holidays a year. Job SummaryReporting directly to the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students, the Director of Student Conduct manages the university-wide conduct/judicial processes for individual students and student organizations, including Greek Life. The Director manages cases of allegations of the Student Code of Conduct/Title V of the California Code of Regulations and relevant executive orders, and recommends disciplinary sanctions, educational and reconciliatory measures when appropriate.
The director is also key in providing advice and educational resources related to student behavior to faculty and staff. The work performed is highly confidential and sensitive and requires collaboration with numerous individuals and offices on campus as well as with the University Legal Counsel, CSU Chancellor’s Office, University Police Department, Counseling Services, Disability Services, academic deans, other campus administrators, and external/internal stakeholders on related concerns.
Qualifications
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Perform research, compile data, and prepare and present reports or information with reliable conclusions and recommendations for actions
- Ability to manage multiple complex conduct issues and cases
- Ability to provide or reference resources and support to students, faculty, and staff
- Ability to provide effective and strong leadership skills to help advance the goals of the department and for advancing the vision of the university as set forth by the President
- Demonstrated ability to use good problem‑solving, mediation and conflict‑resolution skills
- Master’s degree in student personnel administration, higher education administration, or a related field
- Five years of professional experience working in student conduct
