Temporary Faculty Pool – Lecturer in Department of Mathematics
Department of Mathematics seeks qualified candidates to teach undergraduate courses including College Algebra, Pre‑calculus, Introductory Statistics, Calculus, upper‑division Statistics, and Applied Mathematics. Instructors may also be assigned to other necessary courses based on current student needs.
Instructor Responsibilities- Prepare, deliver, conduct, proctor, and grade lectures, office hours, homework, quizzes, class projects, and midterm/final exams.
- Meet all scheduled class times in the assigned teaching mode. All courses are in‑person.
- Adhere to university and system‑wide policies as outlined in the Academic Policy Manual.
Appointments are contingent upon budget and enrollment, and are subject to the Order of Work in the collective bargaining agreement between CSU and the California Faculty Association.
Applicants must demonstrate eligibility to work in the United States. Fresno State is not a sponsoring agency for temporary faculty positions.
CompensationSalary is commensurate with qualifications and experience within the CSU salary schedule (Class Code = 2358). For a Master’s degree holder, the range is $5,507 – $6,677 per month for full‑time (15 WTUs). Salaries adjust based on WTUs assigned.
Anticipated Semester(s)The pool remains open throughout the academic year and appointments are made as needed.
- Fall 2026:
August 19 – December 22, 2026 - Spring 2027:
January 15 – May 26, 2027
- Master’s degree in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, or a closely related field with comparable graduate‑level coursework.
- Evidence of successful teaching experience.
- Commitment to working with a diverse student body and creating an inclusive learning environment.
- Prior teaching experience at the undergraduate level with evidence of teaching evaluations or similar outcomes.
- Experience in active‑learning instructional techniques for mathematics or statistics courses.
- Ph.D. required for teaching upper‑division mathematics or statistics courses.
- Strong mathematical background.
