Temporary Faculty Pool - Lecturer in Social Work Education
Department Overview
The department seeks qualified candidates to teach undergraduate and graduate courses such as:
- Quantitative Research
- Program Evaluation
- Field Instructional Practice
- Other classes identified as needed to fulfill educational goals of current students
Temporary faculty members are responsible for adhering to and implementing university and system-wide policies as directed per the Academic Policy Manual. Responsibilities include preparation, delivery, conducting, proctoring, and grading of lectures, office hours, homework assignments, quizzes, class projects, and midterm and final exams. All classes must be offered and meet as scheduled throughout the semester in the mode (asynchronous, synchronous, in-person, or hybrid) assigned.
CompensationCommensurate with qualifications and experience within salary range placement. The salary ranges are established by the CSU Salary Schedule (Class Code = 2358 for Academic Year Lecturers). For Temporary Faculty with a Master’s degree, the monthly salary is $5,507–$6,677 when teaching full time (15 WTUs), with actual salary adjusted based on WTUs assigned per academic term.
Anticipated SemesterThe temporary faculty pool is continuously open, with positions filled as needed based on enrollment and funding. The pool remains in place for two academic terms; those who wish to remain beyond that must re‑apply. Current terms:
- Fall 2026:
August 19 – December 22, 2026 - Spring 2027:
January 15 – May 26, 2027
Education: Master’s degree in Social Work or closely related field from an accredited institution or foreign equivalent.
Experience: Demonstrated commitment to working effectively with faculty, staff, and students from diverse backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications- Commitment to teaching excellence at the undergraduate level, evidenced through prior teaching experience and evaluations.
- Successful teaching experience at the undergraduate or graduate level.
