Temporary Faculty Pool - Lecturer in Educational Leadership

Temporary faculty members are responsible for adherence to and implementation of university and system‑wide policies as directed by Academic Policy Manual 306, paragraph
2. Instructors must prepare, deliver, conduct, proctor, and grade lectures, office hours, homework assignments, quizzes, class projects, and midterm and final exams. All classes must be offered and meet as scheduled throughout the semester, in the mode assigned (asynchronous, synchronous, in‑person, or hybrid).
Appointment is contingent upon budget and enrollment considerations and is subject to the order of assignment provisions in the collective bargaining agreement between California State University and the California Faculty Association. Faculty are required to demonstrate eligibility to work in the United States; temporary faculty are not sponsored for work visas.
CompensationSalary is commensurate with qualifications and experience and is set within the CSU salary schedule (Class Code 2358 for Academic Year Lecturers). For a temporary faculty member with a Master’s degree, the monthly range is $5,507–$6,677 for full‑time (15 WTUs). Starting salaries are usually near the minimum of the range and are adjusted based on WTUs assigned per term.
Anticipated SemesterThe pool is open continuously and positions are filled as needed. Appointments are typically made just before the start of the academic term, and applicants should be available to begin teaching on short notice.

• Minimum of a Master’s degree (accredited or foreign equivalent) in educational leadership, higher education student affairs, or a closely related discipline with an emphasis in higher education, student affairs, community college leadership, or educational leadership.
Experience- Demonstrated commitment to working effectively with faculty, staff, and students from diverse ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Professional experience in student affairs/higher education or P‑12 educational settings.
- For ELA courses:
California CLEAR Administrative Credential. - For ELA courses:
Familiarity and willingness to participate in CalAPA training and support.
- Commitment to teaching excellence at the undergraduate level, demonstrated through prior teaching experience and evaluations or other evidence.
- Successful teaching experience at the undergraduate level.
- Leadership experience within student affairs/higher education or P‑12 educational settings.
- Doctorate in educational leadership or a closely related discipline with an emphasis in higher education, student affairs, community college leadership, or educational leadership.
