Instructional Student Assistant (ISA) for the Department of Biology in the College of Science and Math.

Position Overview:

The Department of Biology is seeking Instructional Student Assistant (ISA) applicants. The successful applicant will offer instructional assistance to faculty in the Biology Department at California State University, Fresno. Under supervision, an Instructional Assistant will perform teaching, grading or tutoring duties for the majority of work hours in a given appointment in the Biology Department over the course of an academic term.

Anticipated Appointment Dates:
This position is opened until filled. If you have applied and no other positions are available, you will be notified.

Fall 2026:
August 19, 2026 - December 22, 2026

Spring 2027:
January 15, 2027 - May 22, 2027

Hours:

0-20 hours per week.

Job Duties may include the following, but will be dependent upon the specific course to which the instructional student assistant will be assigned, as well as upon the specific needs of the faculty member in charge of the course:

Maintain/Submit students records/grades
Evaluate student assignments
Canvas management
Preparation of instructional materials
Weekly meeting with the course instructor

Qualifications:

Minimum GPA 3.0
Demonstrated commitment to working effectively with faculty, staff and students from diverse ethnic, cultural and socioeconomic background

Preferred Qualifications:

B.S. Degree in Biology or similar field
