High School Teacher

• Plan, organize, and implement personalized instructional programs
• Guide, support, and encourage students toward academic potential, diploma completion, and post-secondary transition
• Collaborate with instructional staff and school personnel
• Develop and update personalized academic plans using transcripts, assessment data, career pathway planning, post-secondary goals, and progress
• Conduct scheduled student appointments and deliver instruction
• Engage students in goal-setting and monitor progress toward graduation requirements
• Assign courses of study and refer students to subject‑area teachers and support services
• Establish learning objectives and content standards
• Prepare and deliver instructional activities and learning materials
• Differentiate instruction and provide accommodations, modifications, and interventions
• Assess, grade, and provide feedback on homework, projects, and tests
• Monitor student progress, attendance, credit completion, and use of online learning technology
• Communicate with students, colleagues, and parents regarding progress and needs
• Manage student behavior and facilitate parent conferences
• Maintain accurate student records, generate report cards, and document contacts
• Collaborate through professional learning communities, student study teams, department meetings, and retention meetings
• Participate in professional development, required meetings, and graduation ceremonies
• Follow policies for reporting incidents such as abuse, substance abuse, harassment, and violence

• Valid California Single Subject or Multiple Subject credential in area of specialization or intern eligibility
• Bachelor's degree with major or minor in the designated subject, including all courses needed to meet credential requirements
• English Learner Authorization
• Successful passing of the California Basic Skills Exam
• Enrollment in a state-approved teacher preparation program and student teaching
• Proficiency in MS Word and email
• Thorough knowledge of California Teaching Standards
• Knowledge of educational trends, research, and technology to support learning
• Knowledge of research-based instructional strategies
• Ability to differentiate instruction for diverse student learning needs
• Ability to work effectively with students, parents, staff, and community representatives
• Ability to communicate effectively and provide appropriate feedback
