Commercial HVAC Building Automation Programmer

• Create control algorithms, download source code to controllers, manage system databases, and implement an animated front-end graphical user interface.
• Experience in multiple systems integration, ensuring different protocols communicate and share information. One front end for multiple platforms.
• Execute project start-ups, commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of installed BAS controls and mechanical systems on assigned projects.
• Participate in the layout and coordination of network drops, IP addresses, and monitoring tools with the customer s IT Department personnel.
• Work with equipment vendors to coordinate communication protocols, encryption, and database requirements for integration to their systems.
• Run semi-complex reports to analyze system operation, work with project team to demonstrate system operation, and verify consistency with the contracted scope of work.
• Participate in final inspection and testing, assure customer acceptance, and conduct training for end user customers on system operations.
• Provide Plans & Control System Documents to application engineering for as-built drawings using the latest digital technology.
• Mentor other specialists who may need specific automation or HVAC product knowledge.

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience.
• 6+ years of experience with Siemens Apogee and Desigo.
• Must have working knowledge of HVAC systems - Unitary Systems to Central Plants.
• Troubleshooting skills for determining HVAC vs. computer/controller issues.
• General understanding of IP networks.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Must be able to read and understand blueprints
• Knowledge of Object Oriented Programming (Java, C++).
• Knowledge of AutoCAD a plus.
• BACnet and/or LON, Lonworks Control Systems, Tridium NIAGARA AX/NIAGARA 4/Distech/Eclypse, Direct Digital Controls, Honeywell Webs, MODbus, Alerton, Johnson Controls FX, Staefa, Solidyne, Andover Controls, Siemens, and Schnieder preferred

Compensation Range: $55.00 - $70.00 per hour
