Travel: 20–30% site travel
Duration: 6+ Months Contract
Role OverviewWe are seeking a skilled Substation Design or Project Engineer with a strong electrical engineering background to support high-voltage and medium-voltage substation projects. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience in substation design, engineering studies, and project coordination within utility or renewable energy environments.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop HV and MV substations
, including physical layouts, protection, and control systems - Prepare and review one‑line diagrams, grounding layouts, relay settings, and control schematics
- Perform electrical system studies including load flow, short circuit, and coordination analysis
- Develop technical specifications, bill of materials (BOM), and construction drawings
- Ensure designs comply with IEEE, ANSI, NESC, NEC, and utility standards
- Coordinate with clients, project managers, and multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Provide technical support during construction, testing, and commissioning phases
- Conduct site visits and assist with field engineering activities
- Support project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and risk assessments
- Utilize tools such as AutoCAD, Micro Station, ETAP, SKM
, or similar software - Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies in substation engineering
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE)
- 3–4 years of experience in substation design or substation project engineering
- Strong knowledge of:
- Power systems and substations
- Transformers, circuit breakers, switch gear, and relays
- Protection & control systems
- SCADA and communication networks
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and engineering specifications
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities
- EIT certification or Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Experience working on utility or renewable energy projects
