Central California (Stockton to Kern County)

We are hiring a Technical Sales Engineer to cover Central California for a well‑established manufacturer’s representative firm specializing in bulk solids process equipment and engineered material handling systems.
This is a high‑priority, immediate opening with significant growth potential. The territory is currently producing approximately $1.25M annually, but leadership believes it should be generating closer to $5M with the right person in place.
If you enjoy consultative, application‑driven selling and working directly with plant‑level decision makers to solve real operational challenges, this is an outstanding opportunity.
Location / Territory- Central California (Stockton south through Kern County)
- Ideal location:
Fresno (middle of the territory) - Candidates can live within 50 miles of Fresno, but may live anywhere in Central CA (excluding Sacramento)
- Minimal overnight travel (mostly local driving and day trips)
Bulk solids process equipment and engineered conveying/material handling solutions.
Sales range from smaller service components to full engineered systems exceeding $1M.
You will be calling on industrial and processing facilities including:
- Food production and food processing (largest market in the region)
- Agriculture, animal feed, grain handling
- Cement, concrete, asphalt
This is a true technical sales role. The right person will be:
- Calling on plant managers, maintenance leaders, operations managers, and engineers
- Walking processing facilities to understand material flow and operational needs
- Reviewing process bottlenecks and recommending solutions
- Interpreting drawings, layouts, and P&IDs
- Helping customers specify equipment for their process
- Preparing technical proposals and quotes
- Responding to RFQs and supporting the full sales cycle
- Working closely with internal engineering and manufacturer partners
- Managing and growing a defined territory through both existing accounts and new business development
This role requires someone who is highly technical and comfortable in customer‑facing environments.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Mechanical Engineering degree strongly preferred (Electrical acceptable)
- Experience selling technical industrial equipment, engineered systems, or capital equipment
- Success calling on industrial plants and end users
- Strong application and process understanding
Ability to translate customer challenges into engineered solutions - Consultative selling mindset (not transactional)
- Self‑motivated and comfortable managing a territory independently
We are NOT looking for a commodity sales rep. This role requires someone who can truly understand plant processes and recommend engineered solutions.

- No engineering degree, but currently selling highly technical industrial/process equipment into similar plant environments
