McKenna Engineering provides high quality process engineering equipment and expert services. In addition to equipment sales, the company offers Application Engineering, System Engineering including design and integration, Fabrication Services, Modular Packaging as a System Integrator, Equipment Installation as well as Equipment Service & Repair. We have grown to serve the United States and global clients from our base in California.
We are looking for a self-motivated Sales Engineer responsible for growing sales in Fresno, Madera, Merced, Stanislaus, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, and Monterey counties. This will be achieved by selling products on our line cards and offering the following services to increase opportunities: engineering & design, construction & installation, field service, service & repair, and complete system packages. The products we service include centrifugal pumps, industrial blowers, vacuum pumps, gas compressors, industrial fans, sanitary process equipment, and municipal process equipment.
This is a commission-based sales position.
- 12-14 in-person sales calls per week; meet with customers to discuss projects, equipment we have to offer, and the customers needs
- Take notes during sales calls to capture data needed to properly size equipment
- Describe the customer s process to the engineering team to help size equipment
- Write complete proposals with a full scope of supply
- Update Salesforce (CRM) daily with: information on the sales calls; opportunities identified; new customer contact information; upcoming meetings and scheduled events
- Follow up with customers on open opportunities and as they approach issuing a purchase order
- Upon receipt of a purchase order, provide an order write-up form, a cost sheet, a proposal, and a copy of the purchase order to hand off to customer service or the engineering team to process the order
- Continually learn about the features, functions, and benefits of the equipment offered
- Manage projects from a high level and update the customer as needed
- Demonstrate a positive an Dottitude and act as a team leader
- Four-year engineering degree preferred
- Five (2-5) years related experience
- Strong/motivated work ethic
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers
- Strong decision-making capabilities
- Proficient with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Must live within the geographical territory (counties listed above)
