Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Create control algorithms, download source code to controllers, manage system databases, and implement an animated front‑end graphical user interface.
- Experience in multiple systems integration, getting different protocols to talk to each other and share information. One front end for multiple platforms.
- Execute project start‑ups, commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of installed BAS controls and mechanical systems on assigned projects.
- Participate in the layout and coordination of network drops, IP addresses and monitoring tools with customer's IT department personnel.
- Work with equipment vendors to coordinate communication protocols, encryption, and database requirements for integration to their systems.
- Run semi‑complex reports to analyze system operation, work with the project team to demonstrate system operation and verify consistency with the contracted scope of work.
- Participate in final inspection and testing, assure customer acceptance, and conduct training for end‑user customers on system operations.
- Provide plans & control system documents to application engineering for as‑built drawings using the latest digital technology.
- Mentor other specialists who may need specific automation or HVAC product knowledge.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience.
- 6+ years of experience with Siemens Apogee and Desigo.
- Must have working knowledge of HVAC systems – unitary systems to central plants.
- Troubleshooting skills for determining HVAC vs. computer/controller issues.
- General understanding of IP networks.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Must be able to read and understand blueprints.
- Knowledge of object‑oriented programming (Java, C++).
- Knowledge of AutoCAD a plus.
- Experience with BACnet and/or LON/Lonworks, Tridium Niagara, Direct Digital Controls, Honeywell Webs, Modbus, Alerton, Johnson Controls FX, Staefa, Solidyne, Andover Controls, Siemens, and Schneider preferred.
