Controller, Finance & Banking, Accounting Manager

Tyler Houk (Practice Director) with Robert Half is looking for an experienced Controller to lead the financial operations of a well-established manufacturing company in Fresno, California. This position plays a vital role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, managing accounting processes, and supporting strategic business decisions. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and expertise in multi-entity accounting within the manufacturing industry.

Responsibilities:

- Lead and oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger management, payroll, accounts payable and receivable, and job cost accounting.

- Consolidate financial data across multiple entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

- Prepare comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to support business decision-making.

- Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and cash flow strategies to optimize financial performance.

- Ensure timely reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and oversee month-end closing processes.

- Supervise, mentor, and provide opportunities for skill development for a team of four accounting staff.

- Implement and maintain effective internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures.

- Coordinate with external firms for audits, tax filings, and regulatory compliance.

- Utilize Quick Books Online to manage accounting functions and ensure efficient financial reporting.

- Analyze financial data and provide insights to enhance profitability and operational efficiency.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

- Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience, including 3 years in a Controller or similar leadership role.

- In-depth knowledge of general ledger management, financial reporting, and internal controls.

- Familiarity with multi-entity accounting and experience in the manufacturing or construction industries is preferred.

- Proficiency in Quick Books Online and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and manage a team effectively.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent communication abilities.

- Experience working with external auditors and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
