Position Overview
Advisors provide technical financial planning and investment management work under the guidance and supervision of a Lead Advisor and/or Senior Advisor. They directly lead select client relationships while also serving, supporting, and managing clients collaboratively with more experienced advisors. They give advice, make recommendations, and oversee client financial plans and investments.
Key Responsibilities- Engage directly and manage client retention and relationships with assigned clients.
- Lead presentation and implementation of suitable financial plans and/or investment strategies for clients.
- Advise clients by understanding needs, objectives, goals, and concerns, and provide appropriate tools.
- Provide periodic oversight to ensure client needs are met.
- Provide focused support and second chair duties in client meetings, adding value to conversations.
- Coordinate with Senior and Lead Advisors to develop and prepare client plans, ensuring recommendations are in the client’s best interest.
- Communicate with clients, translating their needs into actionable disciplined plans.
- Liaise with other advisors such as attorneys, CPAs, and external sources.
- Follow up with clients pre‑ and post‑meeting, addressing emerging needs.
- Prepare data, run reports, and recommend financial plans using software.
- Prepare recommendations on investments, including policy statements and allocation reports.
- Act as backup for Lead Advisors on advisory questions.
- Assist with newsletters and economic reports.
- Delegate non‑advisory follow‑up to client service department.
4‑Year Degree in finance, economics, business, or related field.
Skills and Knowledge Requirements- Proficient in financial planning software and tools.
- Experience developing and implementing financial plans tailored to client needs.
- Client relationship management experience.
- Knowledge of investment advisory compliance and regulations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, empathy, and listening.
- Strong organization and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- 2+ years of direct advisory experience in financial services.
- CFP® or CFP®‑candidate with Series 65 license required.
Base Salary: $70,000 - $95,000. Team incentive compensation paid quarterly based on firm revenues, estimated $7,000 - $10,000. Retirement plan with 3% company match.
