Overview
Mechanics Bank is currently searching for a Banking Services Lead to join our team at our Fresno Branch. Under general supervision, the role independently and accurately performs the full range of teller, new account, and maintenance transactions according to established procedures. The candidate delivers excellent customer service, works closely with the sales team, and supports the Retail Banking Services Officer with operational tasks and reporting.
Responsibilities- Perform routine teller transactions and work directly with customers.
- Accept, verify, and process basic to complex customer transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, payments, transfers, and mail or night drop transactions.
- Adhere to all cash handling policies and procedures, balance cash at the end of each shift, and maintain a cash supply for transactions performed.
- Assist the Retail Operations Manager in ensuring branch operational soundness and monitor overall cash levels.
- Complete and review daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi‑annual, and annual operational tasks.
- Lead and direct the activities of Customer Service Representatives and Universal Bankers as needed.
- Set and implement operational priorities and processes for the office.
- Provide extraordinary service to customers, assist with account maintenance, online banking, mobile banking, and resolve complex account issues.
- Review customer transactions for red flags, fraud, and maintain awareness of current scams and fraud prevention.
- Represent the Bank and its products and services with enthusiasm, identify and present new or additional products.
- Maintain compliance with internal operational standards and Federal and State regulations, including Bank Secrecy Act/Anti‑Money Laundering policies.
- High School Diploma or GED required, or equivalent education and experience.
- Notary license preferred.
- Minimum three years of banking operations experience.
- Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and time‑management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a team.
- Ability to make decisions and review/approve other employee decisions.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational ability.
- Extensive knowledge of bank deposit products, alternative services, and vendor‑provided products.
- Knowledge of applicable Federal and State banking regulations, and retail office operations.
- Pay Range: $23.00 – $29.00 hourly, eligible for Retail Incentive Plan.
