Responsibilities

Summary:

Under the direction of the Chief Medical Officer, the PACE Medical Director oversees and directs PACE Medical Services for the UHC PACE program. Ensures compliance with Program of All‑Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) regulations, organizational requirements, and applicable Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations. The PACE Medical Director also provides primary medical care to participants at the PACE site, including assessment, and the development and evaluation of a plan of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.

Essential Duties:

  • The PACE Medical Director is responsible for the delivery of participant care, clinical outcomes, and for the implementation and oversight of the quality assessment and performance improvement program.
  • Engages and collaborates with the Quality Improvement department to participate in data analysis, implement quality improvement initiatives, and follow through with assigned performance improvement processes.
  • Provides direction and supervision to all PACE primary care providers and PACE contracted specialists. Ensures the quality of related primary care, nursing, and allied health services.
  • The Medical Director is responsible for the development and maintenance of medical policies and procedures/standards and protocols. Ensures compliance with State, Federal, and local regulations associated with PACE program requirements, including Clinic Licensure, HIPAA, and Fraud Waste and Abuse.
